I think they are just crews setting up by the clothes they wore, no aprons... Can only see 4 benches (?), and looks like 6 fridges (?) at the back??? If they are doing a regional tour of towns, could be more than just two towns so far?

Yes, no aprons... It could be two contestants at each bench though? 8 contestants could be almost all the contestants left by now...
Remember they are filming in Williamstown on February 15, maybe it can be a whole week of episodes filming through this period?

The focus on the contestants learning throughout the series seems to be code to suggest they are not that great, LOL...

Almost forgot, was poking around a couple of days ago looking for news of MCA, and this long "essay"/"thesis" appeared, very interesting read. Apparently this American writer found MasterChef Australia in about Nov last year, got hooked and watched the entire 8 seasons in about 4 months on YouTube, and wrote the article...

Was just thinking, might have to search for terms like #ryōri, or #masutāshefu or #Ōsutoraria, or something like that? LOL...

Nice find on that photo of the judges at Sensoji temple. Now I'm confused, because I was anticipating when they film there at such a major tourist attraction with (I assumed) lots of foreign tourists, there is no way they can escape social media, but I didn't find anything yet.... Though the judges look very cold and there is almost no-one around, makes me wonder if maybe this could be just a promo photo taken and they haven't filmed yet... Also no mention on any judges' social media yet, which is a bit weird. George seems to be in Australia until a few days ago
Another thought, that they might visit the Tsukiji fish market, that seems like the kind of thing they like to do on overseas trips, maybe one of those challenges where they have to buy ingredients and then travel to the restaurant to cook them (Amazing Race-style)...
That quote also made me laugh: "This is new territory for the judging trio. Calombaris has never been to Japan before. Preston’s only trip was 15 years ago. Mehigan has visited once.". Quite surprising to me, I know the judges' knowledge is weak on almost all Asian food, but I always thought they seem to travel so much...

You are right, maybe the photos of the judges were taken the first day they arrived for the promo/news, guessing maybe Fri or Sat? In that case maybe filming starts today? I assumed on weekends, the temple would be full of people, weekdays less so, making filming easier?
