I guess Matt is just doing the rounds saying the same thing, towing the producers' line. Didn't he say almost the same thing last year before season 9 aired? And looked what happened, it turned into THE BIG ICE CREAM FIASCO, LOL. Home cooking is one thing, but the format NEED to specify what they have to cook in every challenge, not just produce some ingredients, and let them cook whatever they want. We will have to wait and see, fingers crossed but not really expecting anything different from season 9 which is a shame to say the least.

I also think that the judges have got so rich now that they have lost touch with the average people, LOL... Talk about home cooking, how many households have all those fancy equipment that the contestants keep using for their cooking? They did the no fancy equipment for one week last year, but it may be more interesting if they remove one fancy equipment for every challenge throughout the season, rather than just one week?

From Herald Sun: Ramsay is in Australia to film MasterChef in Melbourne, however first he plans to spend Sunday at the Australian Open.
“I’m filming Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, then Thursday flying back to Vegas where we have a new Hell’s Kitchen restaurant opening, our first ever,” he said.
Ramsay is one of the key international stars taking part in the new season of MasterChef along with Nigella Lawson who finished filming her stint on the show just days ago.So he's filming 3 days in a row, could be for more than one episode? I think usually they film the challenge on the first day, and the second day they film the contestants recounting the challenge for the to-camera segments, isn't that right? So for Gordon to be involved 3 days in a row, 3 episodes at least??? And then maybe the contestants do their recounting of those episodes after he left??? Intriguing... Just for interest... Very interesting. I don't recall many cases where the guest chef was there for more than one episode but less than a week, but I guess they'll take whatever they can get... We know they finished Nigella filming with a Masterclass, so Gordon will film a Sunday episode for sure. I can imagine they also really like to do a cook-along-with-Gordon Monday elimination. Tuesday immunity pin with Gordon seems less interesting, so maybe the Sunday episode takes two days to film?
In any case, I think we have an idea of the overall structure here: Week 1 (December first half): half week after top 24 Week 2 (December second half): normal week Week 3 (Jan 7 - Jan 19 or so): Nigella week Week 4 (Jan 20 - early Feb): Gordon half week
Presumably they want to have at least one other big week before the overseas trip. Heston?

If they squeeze in the filming, I would say they can film Mon and Tues episodes in one day, morning for the Mon elimination ep (as long as they don't start doing the 6-hour pressure test early on like last year), and afternoon for the Tues Immunity (since they involve different contestants), so in reality they could do 4 ep in 3 days to include team challenge to be filmed on the third day? Impossible??? I would like to see Gordon involved in the team challenge, LOL, wishful thinking maybe???

Thinking outside the box, with Nigella Week and Gordon "Week" back-to-back, assuming Nigella Week follows the usual weekly pattern, Gordon's episodes may not follow the usual pattern, think Heston Week from the past couple of years, with only one elimination at the end of the week only??? So they may be doing team challenges for all of Gordon-involved episodes, with losing team from each challenge out of the next challenge waiting for the elimination at the end of the week?

I feel it's done on the same day as they are still wearing the same clothes and are also visibly upset if they've been eliminated or something to the point of red puffed up eyes etc which wouldn't happen if they filmed these segments the next day

But what I was thinking is that the puffy eyes were usually the eliminated contestants, and since they were not going back to the house, their recappings had to be filmed straight after elimination on the same day. Regarding the dirty aprons etc., they could be kept for next day, like they had to make sure they wore the same clothes for the recapping? I don't know, LOL, it must be difficult to film everyone doing their camera segments in the early weeks as there are so many of them, assuming everyone had to do it?
