New judges, hopefully a new beginning with innovative challenges instead of the same old same old...

LOL, don't go there... It won't be a cooking show, it will be a "dramatic, bitching" show disguised as a cooking show as defined by seven... And no new "cooking" shows that channel seven tried in recent years have gone beyond one season... Let's see... Zumbo's Just Desserts, Restaurant Revolution, Hell's Kitchen Australia...

Speculation about the judges on Masterchef: Celebrity chefs Andy Allen and Jock Zonfrillo, and food writer Melissa Leong, are strongly tipped to host Masterchef Australia in 2020.
The trio are set to helm popular reality cooking show after Channel 10 cut ties with George Calombaris, Gary Mehigan and Matt Preston.
Allen, a former electrician, won Masterchef in 2012.
He is now the head chef at Three Blue Ducks in Sydney.
Allen recently let a few Masterchef secrets slip on the Duck’s website.
He said contestants are only allowed two standard drinks of alcohol per week.
But Allen added: “Myself and a couple of other legends took matters into our own hands, made a hectic batch of homemade ginger beer, and got everyone totally sideways,” he revealed.
“We were then banned from drinking.”
Zonfrillo runs the world-renowned Orana in Adelaide. A former heroin addict, Zonfrillo once said food, and training under legendary chef Marco Pierre White, saved his life.
“If it wasn’t for food I would have died,” he told the Good Food Guide.
“If I hadn’t found my career path, I would have just been another statistic. Luckily for me, I somehow fluked upon cooking.”
Leong, a food scribe, broadcaster and author, is wonderfully blunt about the industry, especially the age of the food blogger.
“Just because you have a stomach and a laptop doesn’t make you a writer, publisher or editor,” she told SBS-TV.
“I think in an age where we do things all by ourselves, it’s very easy to claim status that isn’t earned.
Leong added: “There are a lot of people out there who think that because they’ve done a season of a reality show, that makes them an editor, or because they have a blog that makes them a publisher.
“It’s a wonderful start, but in order to really be a writer, you need to pull that thread and you need to earn it.”
Channel 10 was contacted for comment today.
A network spokesperson said: “The identity of the new MasterChef judges is a hot topic and we welcome speculation. Sit tight, their identities will be revealed very soon.”

Hmm, hope that is just speculation... not very impressed with Melissa as a judge, she was not very good with food knowledge especially East Asian food on The Chef's Line, Maeve has more understanding of Asian food than her. To me Mel seems to be more interested in hip, fashionable food, more than good fundamental solid food knowledge, and LOL, in the second season, she dressed like she was about to go on a catwalk than a judge on a food show, very impractical...

With Coles being the main sponsor, Curtis Stone will be Coles choice for one of the judges. There will be a female judge for sure. Donna Hay??

From news.com... MELISSA LEONG Leong is a food and travel writer, food media consultant, radio broadcaster, television presenter, MC and cookbook editor. A first-generation Singaporean Australian, she also isn’t afraid to consume anything at least once. “It goes without saying, that it is an honour to be passed the baton and asked to help bring the next chapter to life on a show like MasterChef Australia,” Leong said. “It came as a huge surprise for me, and is, without a doubt the opportunity of a lifetime. I am really looking forward to getting stuck in!” Our spies this morning have pointed out that Melissa wasn’t always quite so enthusiastic about MasterChef — here’s a tweet from her in 2012: A 2012 tweet from Melissa Leong. “What happens when you go on Masterchef & then open a restaurant? Apparently not much. Back to 2nd hand car sales then...”Source:Twitter And another from 2011: “The biggest mistake an amateur chef can make is going on masterchef.”Source:Twitter On Instagram earlier this year, Leong batted away suggestions she was in the running to be a MasterChef judge, writing: “Let me put it on the record — I don’t want to be the next Matt Preston. I don’t want to be the next anyone, for that matter. I want to be the first ME.” LOL...

"The upcoming season will see the best contestants from the past 11 seasons return to the kitchen to compete in MasterChef Australia: Back To Win which will be filmed in Melbourne early next year. The new judges will be joined throughout the season by celebrity chefs Gordon Ramsay, Heston Blumenthal and Curtis Stone."

Hm, maybe no filming this year since no auditions to film?
Should be pretty easy to see which contestants are involved by absences on social media though
