The judges don't make the show. If Ch 7 can't get the format right, the show will fail. You hit the nail right on the head. That seems to be the major problem in channel 7's new cooking shows in recent years. They think grabbing big names to host a show is a good idea when the concept/format is all wrong. Hell's Kitchen with Marco could have worked if they did not decide to go for a celebrity version which watered down the whole "hell's kitchen" concept. As for Zumbo Just Desserts, Zumbo is no presenter, he should have been just a judge as the show itself is quite good but seeing Zumbo wandering around lost killed the enjoyment of the show.

Andy Allen is a busy boy these days, not only becoming a judge on MasterChef Australia, he has a new afternoon cooking show on 10 starting this week called Farm to Fork with co-presenters Courtney Roulston and Michael Weldon who seem to have moved from The Cook Pantry with Matt Sinclair which I assume is now no longer in production. (Matt probably too busy to continue doing TV show?)

His restaurant just opened earlier this month in Adelaide. Could just be Jock supporting him and wishing him luck with the new venture?

7Food will end after just one year on air. I'm not surprised, I watched The Great Food Truck Race occasionally, even though they were just repeats, the way 7Food aired the episodes were very infuriating, by inserting something like a cooking segment from BHG at the last adbreak, so it made you think the episode had ended without the ending. I was caught by surprise the first time, and then realized they were just manipulating you to watch BHG. SBS Food is 100% better now they have more varieties, including lots of their old local cooking shows. tvtonight.com.au/2019/12/7food-to-close-broadcast-on-december-28.html
