Seems they have left Japan and back to Australia now (judging from the food team instagram). Still can't find anything on social media, very weird... There are few tantalising clues from the food team, e.g. http://instagr.am/p/BSnn7m6D90D

After some search, I found that that view of Mt Fuji is what you get if you view it from the south, see e.g. www.japan-guide.com/e/e6933.html, maybe from Fuji city or somewhere in Shizuoka prefecture. It's the same view you get if you search "Mt fuji view from tokaido shinkansen". I guess the location is in the middle of nowhere and they just chose it for the famous view...

I've a feeling all the challenges in Japan were non-public based, that's why it is difficult to find any spoilers. Maybe due to the language barrier? Even last year in California, only one challenge, as far as I can remember, involved public which was the food truck one.

Since they are back from Japan now, just thinking about the schedule, I think it must be something like this. March 26: Sensoji temple. Ch10 announced this trip on March 26 with the photo from the temple, it is quite possible they were actually filming in the temple on that day, in my opinion now. March 28: Mt Fuji March 30: Filming somewhere in Tokyo March 31 -> ? : from Friday -> Monday?? they were taking a filming break on this weekend, seeing the judges leaving Tokyo on March 31 to being spotted elsewhere, also the food team is having a break in Tokyo on the Friday (see their instagrams). April 3?, 5?: This leaves the next week for two more episodes ( ?) and maybe masterclass (?), and back home a few days ago. Back to the Mt Fuji photo, after a lot of refining my search and learning a lot of things =D =D it seems to be probably from a tea plantation in either Imamiya or Obuchi (they are near each other), Fuji-shi, Shizuoka. This is apparently quite a famous location with many tea plantations that have similar views. It matches the direction to Mt Fuji and also quite close and high altitude. Here's some random links (mostly for my own reference) Imamiya www.japan-guide.com/forum/quereadisplay.html?0+98741medium.com/japan-wireless/mt-fuji-and-green-tea-field-imamiya-tea-plantation-d6a95b04dbf4zekkeijapan.com/spot/index/199/?language=enwww.instagram.com/explore/locations/635730034/www.flickr.com/photos/22537025@N02/27239096396or search 富士市今宮 (Imamiya, Fuji) Obuchi www.soraironote.com/archives/1927 (the second section here has some incredibly similar images) http://instagram.com/p/BFBFMUfKNEs www.fujinokuni-viewtea-en.jp/map/fuji_oobuchi.html大淵笹場 (the name of a particular tea plantation called Obuchi Sasaba)

#1 some desert location??? Actually, if you watch the promo, you can see what is going on here. In the background is ocean, and on the right hand side a very long table. The promo has a shot of a bus travelling along the ocean, and a close up of the table I think the Heston week as you thought before is some kind of road-trip (see the shot of the bus in the promo too), must be a very long trip to reach the ocean (!!!!), in addition to the regional Victoria that we already know about. See in the promo the shot of Heston saying "get your bags!!!!!", standing in front of probably a bus and the hedges in the front of the Masterchef kitchen... The Firecracker is also from pre-top 24, see the absence of aprons when she lifts the cloche on that.

Wow, great detective work! How did you manage to find that? I did not even notice the painting behind the glass structure until now, LOL...

So that is the beach, and during Heston week? They can't be at the top 8 at that time already? Maybe the 2 standing on the right are also contestants, making it top 10 stage???

I've just seen this long First Look promo today, LOL. The last two promos I've seen were probably edited short versions from this longer promo. No wonder I was a bit confused about the bus as it was not shown in the two shorter versions I saw in the last couple of days. This long version showed Yotam Ottolenghi and David Thompson, and a couple of unfamiliar chefs. Also curious about the "balloon" that Christy Tania deflated using her mouth??? In terms of Heston week, I think they are the top 10 and same as last year, with only one elimination. The beach one, I am quite sure now the two dressed in black on the right are contestants waiting to go into elimination challenge. I'm trying to figure out which day is the beach one? I think they filmed at Pioneer Settlement at Swan Hill first, then Brim Silos at Bendigo next? So maybe they are not paired this year, and the two were the least impressive dishes from the first two days, and the beach one was the third location?
