So the finale is only 2 rounds. This year finalists are really having it easy. THEY will make an entree and main course for each judge, in 90 minutes, using a hero ingredient from a display the judges have selected. Round two is Blumenthal’s ultimate pressure test, where the finalists must recreate one of the dishes from The Fat Duck.

Today’s elimination could have been far more interesting to watch, when the contestants were told to cook anything they like but are then thrown a twist whereby each of them has to cook a dish to represent their heritage, and they will be judged by guest judges who are the real experts in judging the contestants respective heritage cooking ie Mauritian (Ben)Indonesian (Jess) Singaporean (Sashi). This would have put more pressure on these contestants to come up with a best dish as they are being judged by chefs who knows those cuisines. Ben's heritage is not Mauritian. He is Australian of Dutch and French descent.

Pavlova isn't really similar to meringue kisses. A well done pavlova isn't easy to find.

Ben's dish always so sparse, need a Macca's run after his meal... It wasn't sparse really, it is what you would expect in fine dining.

Did Ben just say pea a hero ingredient in his main? Making up for that pea challenge that he lost earlier, LOL
