A bad start for Kim & Suong, bought 4 new woks to make banh xeo the entree, took forever to season, then could not use them after all, then took 4 hours to make entree using the old pan making them one at a time...

In the last couple of years, MKR has crossed the line for their pursuit of drama. Granted, the show is always focusing on drama more than cooking, that's why I had said I watched it like The Amazing Race. In the early seasons, the drama was more about incompetent, delusional cooks, but now it has turned into plain nastiness between some teams, especially the last two years, making it really difficult to watch. We used to laugh at the teams who were cast as villains, and waited for their comeuppance. But at the same times there were always a few really good competent teams for us to enjoy and cheer for. But now the most competent teams are just mediocre, and even the likable teams seem to be very strategic as well in scoring, making it hard for us to cheer for them as well. Oh well, at least it has freed me from watching it regularly anymore, time to move on, LOL...
Maybe some networks should look into making that Japanese game show with the shinobi, I love that show but it seems SBS only bought a couple of episodes of that, wish there are more episodes SBS would air as I need the subtitles to understand the show, LOL... In fact, I've worked out the format, LOL, unashamedly stealing directly from the Masterchef format... Sunday night see the contestants playing the Battle For Money individually, but instead of money, they all play for points... Mon night, the lowest point scorers, say 5 instead of 3, play an elimination game, with the lowest point scorer eliminated. Tues night see the highest point scorers from Sun night play for advantage, maybe for a shinobi, LOL... Wed night team game, red and blue teams, with the losing team playing for elimination on Thurs, DONE, easy peasy!

With MKR always casting people who can't cook in a supposedly cooking competition, I just had a crazy thought, how would you feel if a network commissioned a new "reality" competition with all "contestants" being actors/actresses, but the viewers are not being told it is in fact a fully scripted drama even though it is filmed and presented exactly like a "reality" competition? Would you feel betrayed for being taken for a ride?

LOL, watching the medieval challenge, so many things wrong with the ingredients used... There were no spices, potatoes, tomatoes, corns, chillies during medieval times in Europe, yet they are all using those ingredients, what sort of medieval challenge is this?
