Steamed Radish Cake 萝卜糕Recipe from Kitchen Notes on Fenying's radio program, Saturday, January 13, 2007Ingredients: A (chopped finely):5 shallots 5 cloves garlic 60g dried shrimps (rinsed then soaked until soft) B:200g pork (shredded finely) 5 dried shiitake mushrooms (rinsed then soaked until soft, then shredded) C:600g daikon radish (shredded or grated finely) Seasoning (mix together):500g water 1 tsp salt 1 tbsp sugar 1 chicken stock cube (crumbled) 1 tsp sesame oil ½ tsp ground white pepper D (mix together):500g water 300g rice flour 50g tapioca starch Method:1. Heat a wok with some cooking oil. 2. Stir fry A over medium heat until golden brown. 3. Add B and stir fry until fragrant. 4. Add in C and mix well. 5. Add seasoning and bring to a boil. 6. Slowly pour in D, stirring as you pour, until the sauce thicken into batter. Pour batter into an oiled steaming tray (or cake tin), and steam over high heat for 45 mins-1 hour.
