Just been calculating back, if there were 14 contestants on Feb 8, they would have to start filming the Top 24 as early as Nov 2015 (assuming 2 weeks to film one week worth of episodes). Then they could have filmed 4 weeks worth before Christmas break, Nigella would be about Week 5 with 17 contestants. Marco Week would be about 19/20 contestants.

If the woman above's (in the article) best moment was meeting Marco, she obviously doesn't last long enough to meet Nigella/Heston, LOL. Everything on social media indicates they are on the way back from LA now. This year they are going to have more episodes with Heston. There was 4 "popup-restaurants" they were advertising, right? That's a lot of challenges for one week ( ) needingĀ people from the public to taste the food. One of them must be the challenge at the beach. Probably another is a service challenge in MC kitchen. What about the other two ... ? Dates for Heston pop up 29 Feb for 80 guests 2 Mar for 500 guests (must be the challenge at the beach) 4 Mar for 30 guests 9 Mar for 10 guests

Nigella would be about Week 5 with 17 contestants. The fete challenge seems to have three teams, so 18 contestants for that (I can't remember, do they often have uneven teams?) would make the most sense? Dates for Heston pop up 29 Feb for 80 guests 2 Mar for 500 guests (must be the challenge at the beach) 4 Mar for 30 guests 9 Mar for 10 guests Wow, this is great info, thanks lp I'm not quite sure how this fits into a week of episodes, presumably the remaining challenge (assuming there are 5) is a Heston mystery box/invention test... hmmm... Another thought could be a challenge **at** Dinner by Heston (which has capacity between 45 - 120 according to some articles). Edit: challenge at the beach means this, this, this, this (posted above somewhere) ... I haven't looked too hard, maybe there are better spoilers than these.

With 30 and 10 diners for the last two pop-ups, it would be indoor challenges, so maybe difficult to get spoilers.
In last night episode of Inside Heston's World, the Melb Fat Duck did 50 diners per sitting IIRC, so the new restaurant would do about the same, or similar.

More from the Heston Beach challenge, seems to be an ice cream challenge (maybe not a big Wednesday outdoors team challenge then?). What about this photo, is it Melbourne? Where? Also the tweet from George about seeing Curtis in Melb, he could be filming an episode for the final week? I think this is very much possible, since there's no (?) evidence he has appeared in this series yet?. Since they already took a filming break at the end of March (possibly they didn't restart filming until the trip to US?), I think they will definitely be filming next (this?) week.

Could be taken from Hilton, which I assumed Heston would be staying? I think the angle of the photo made the river looked wider than usual, LOL This beach challenge reminds me of the beach challenge where Hayden did his thing to attract attention, LOL, can't believe that was what, season 3?

Yes, season 3, back when they used to film in Sydney =D Hilton could be correct. The reason why I think that that photo seems interesting because 1) they look dressed ready to shoot (as opposed to in casual clothes), 2) looks like they are standing in between two cooking benches, 3) very early morning would indicate filming. Might be from one of the hidden Heston dates and not uploaded for a few days. Also didn't notice this before, that according to this article (http://www.tvtonight.com.au/2016/03/masterchef-australia-2016-promo.html), Curtis will appear on this season. Luke Nguyen (also listed in that article) can be seen if you look closely at these photos: www.facebook.com/DomainPropertyAdvocates/photos/a.1036435923045877.1073741845.137524059603739/1036436029712533/?type=3&theater posted in this thread earlier.

I thought that might have something to do with Heston's restaurant rather than MasterChef. They don't usually dress in chef white when they are judging in MasterChef challenges, do they? Trying to think of an occasion when they do that, unless both of them are doing the passes in a service challenge?

Oh, of course, another scenario with them in chef whites are them doing a Masterclass? With all the discussions on challenges, completely forgot about the rare Masterclasses they might be doing.

That would make the dates match well. So March 9 (Hidden Heston with 10 only guests) is most likely an elimination. I guess they save the Masterclasses for special themes, e.g. Heston, Marco, California etc.

There was a promo for Sunrise during MKR tonight that Curtis will be cooking there sometimes this week. It will be interesting to see which day.

This thread is now only available to members only due to the major spoilers. With about 2 weeks to the show airing, I think I owe Channel 10 the courtesy of not making these spoilers available to the general public, unless they want to know about them, then they just have to register as a member to view the spoilers. This also prevent people using search engines accidentally stumble into this thread and getting unwanted spoilers. Anyway there are only three of us discussing MCA8 here, LOL, maybe this will also prompt more contributors, one can only hope.
