I also get the feeling that it will be a shorter season of MasterChef next year to test the new judges, in case ratings go downhill fast after the initial curiosity to see the new judges... Heard that there will be 2 seasons of Australian Survivor next year, so timeslots maybe a problem too with I'm Celeb, Dancing, Bachelor franchises, Masked Singer (anyone watching this, was initially fun guessing in the beginning but social media spoilers make it not so much fun now - in saying that they all think wolf is Milsy but I think it is Adam Lambert, so far the only one I guessed correctly without social media spoilers was prawn Darren McMullen, LOL), Amazing Race Australia all in the 7:30pm timeslots.

"The fresh-faced judges will be joined by some familiar ones from the last decade or so of the series because it's 'MasterChef: Back To Win', baby! Former contestants will return for another chance to win the title and we've already started dream casting."- 10daily
Interesting, I'll be keeping an eye on the contestants social media accounts.
I wouldn't be surprised if the cast is among these- 4- Mindy, Audra, Kylie, Alice, Julia, Ben 5- Christina, Rishi, Dan 6- Tash, Sarah, Laura, Brent, Emelia 7- Georgia, Sara, Reynold, Billie, Jessie, Rose, Ashleigh 8- Matt, Elena, Elise, Harry, Chloe 9- Tamara, Diana, Ben, Karlie, Sarah, Eloise 10- Sashi, Jess, Samira, Chloe, Sarah Hoda 11- Tessa, Larissa, Tati, Abbey, Anushka, Derek

I don't think any of the former winners will be back. Also those who are successful now like Matt, Reynolds,Poh and those with their own shows will not want to tarnish their reputation.

I'm not expecting too much until they announce the contestants, I think most returning contestants would be from the more recent seasons, maybe the last 4-5 seasons. Also we can safely rule out contestants like Tash (who had a bitter experience), Emelia (whom I read left the food industry very quickly after her season), Audra (who was a judge on MC Asia, would look silly to come back again as contestant). There are also no reason for the successful ones to come back, they already achieved their dreams, why come back unless it is for charity?

Another question, will the 3 mentors return as mentors next year, or would having mentors be superfluous next year?

Wouldn't it be hilarious if they have the first two contestants eliminated from each season to come back, as all of them did not have a chance to compete properly the first time around, and quite a few of them got eliminated by unlucky circumstances... that also immediately got them 22 contestants?

Also I asked a contestant from season 9 and she told me that they had already approached her but she said no because she has other things planned, so we can safely say that they've already started casting!

Next year it is called Masterchef Back to win. Thus winners should not be invited back.

Olympics start on 24th July. Still can have 12 weeks if like this year. Start on 29 Apr - 23 July. BIP is scheduled for Apr-May as well according to the link at TV Tonight. What days were BIP on this year? MasterChef may have to share the week with BIP in May, so 3 eps of MC per week during May?

It is called "Back To Win" as announced, but everyone is calling it "All-Star" on media or in interview, the judges said best of the best will come back. They may have hoped to get some good contestants to come back, but it all depends on those contestants to say Yes, or it will be the ones everyone have forgotten who will be back, LOL.
