Meant to say it last night, but was rushing through the episode so I could watch the beginning of MasterChef, but sorry to be pedantic, was very disappointed with last night's char siew episode! Most of them did not make char siew, but meat cooked in char siew sauce at best! It felt like it was a char siew sauce challenge rather than a proper char siew challenge. Melissa as a judge should have made it clear, her credibility has dropped considerably in my opinion! Say for example the challenge was for making "satay", and they all cook/stir-fry/stew meat in satay sauce, would you be happy to judge them as satay???

Evelyn did not make any sides to go with her XO fried fish... In the end Noby beat the chef with his mum's steamed fish.

Evelyn went home for making the sauce too hot, probably need at least rice to go with the fish...

With Masterchef starting this week, I'm falling behind with updating The Chefs' Line...
Anyway here we go with last night episode... Cooking dumplings... specifically I think they mean wheat pastry-type dumplings, not baos or rice ball dumplings, wish they would specify the theme more in detail, this is SBS after all...

It is sous chef Chris... Haha, another chef not cooking his specialty, he's a wok chef, not dumplings chef...

I wish all three judges would do the judging, yes, keep one of them as blind tasting judge, but at least the other two judges can contribute in scoring maybe in the taste of the dish?
